Initiator

Kulturstiftung des Bundes (The German Federal Cultural Foundation) was founded in 2002 by the German Government to support art and cultural projects in an international context. Innovative project formats in different cultural sectors are to be developed, and the emphasis of support lies within the field of contemporary cultural production. In addition to providing “General Project Funding”, which is also open to application from abroad, the Federal Cultural Foundation develops its own projects, in particular within the scope of its programmes “Art and the City”, “Cultural Aspects of German Unification”, “Cultural Challenges of 9/11”, “Migration” – and finally the programme “Eastern and Central Europe”, to which Büro Kopernikus belongs. As a successor project to Büro Kopernikus’ German-Polish cultural projects, the Federal Cultural Foundation has started the initiative “bipolar – deutsch-ungarische kulturprojekte”, which in 2006/2007 will fund German-Hungarian cooperations.

Further information on the German Federal Cultural Foundation is available on their website at Website.
