Karkowski, Zbigniew
Born in 1958 in Krakow. Studied composition at the State College of Music in Göteborg, Sweden, and the Aesthetics of Modern Music at the Faculty of Music Sciences of the University of Göteborg.

Zbigniew Karkowski is also a graduate of the Computerised Music course at the Technical University of Chalmers in Sweden, and of Sonology at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Den Haag, Netherlands. He has attended master classes with (amongst others) Iannis Xenakis, Olivier Messiaen, Pierre Boulez and Georges Aperghis. As a composer of both acoustic and electronic music, he has written large orchestral works, an opera and diverse chamber pieces. He is a founding member of the electro-acoustic performance trio “Sensorband”, and is active in the Japanese underground noise scene.
